HOLIDAYS

The St. John the Baptist Parish School Board shall establish the holiday schedule for all personnel in addition to those included in the adoption of a school calendar.  Whenever a holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the School Board may declare that the holiday be observed on the preceding Friday or following Monday, respectively.

General election day shall be designated by each school system as a holiday every four (4) years for the presidential election.  The first Tuesday after the first Monday in November in even-numbered years where the parish governing body has established a polling place at a public school shall also be designated as a holiday.
