RESERVE, LA - Meeting of May 31, 2012

The Chair called the meeting to order and read the following call:

HONORABLE MEMBERS OF THE SCHOOL BOARD

Parish of St. John the Baptist

Dear Board Member:

Upon call of the President, the St. John the Baptist Parish School Board will meet in special session at Godchaux Grammar Cafeteria, 1600 Highway 44, Reserve, Louisiana, at 9:00 a.m., on Thursday, May 31, 2012.

An agenda for the meeting is attached.

The Chair called for a moment of silent meditation followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

ROLL CALL OF MEMBERS:

PRESENT:        Messrs. Jack, Keller, Johnson, Sanders, Nicholas, Wise, Bacas, and Triche

ABSENT:          Messrs. Burl and Jones and Ms. DeFrancesch

There were 8 members present and 3 members absent.

ITEM 3.  Executive Session – Update on Negotiations

The chair called for a motion to go into executive session for the purpose to discuss negotiations.  A motion was made by Mr. Triche to go into executive session, seconded by Dr. Keller.  There being no objections, the motion passed.  The board went into executive session at 9:11 A.M.

Keith Jones arrived at 9:12 A.M. and was recorded present.

Vice-President Triche called the meeting back to order at 10:30 A.M.  President Sanders was recorded absent at 10:30 A.M. A motion was made by Mr. Bacas, seconded by Dr. Keller, to reconvene into open session.  There were no objections and the meeting reconvened in open session. 

The agenda having been completed, and there being no further business, Dr. Keller offered a motion for adjournment, seconded by Mr. Jones.  There were no objections.  The meeting adjourned at 10:32 A.M.  Mr. Sanders was absent.
